Chart to show new backlinksYou may be aware (and if not have you been hiding under a rock for the last week?!) that Majestic has launched new additional tabs to our Site Explorer tool allowing you to see all of your new and lost links. Although there are other tools on the market with a similar goal, we believe at Majestic that we offer the most comprehensive data and the best usability to our customers.

With these new tabs you can inspect the new and lost links at domain, subdomain and URL level. It will show you the individual backlinks, the date that they were first seen and when they were lost.

What makes our tool stand out from the crowd is its interactivity, allowing the user to select a date and see the new or lost links for that date and even to ‘drag and select’ over a selected date range of up to two weeks on the charts, letting you see detailed information that  is relevant to you.  Also by hovering over a date on the chart it gives you a quick summary of the amount of new or lost links on that day.

As with all our tools, our fresh index or our historic index can be used which we believe to be the most comprehensive and accurate data on the web.

Chart showing lost backlinks

This is the best tool in the market at the moment with no others letting you see data in as much detail as we do!

So if you aren’t using our new tabs why not?!

Happy link building!

Speaking of the MajesticSEO features, why do website reports (regardless of filtering is used or not) never match the report shown on the home page of https://www.majesticseo.com/

To be specific, I am talking about the amount of back-links and referring domains numbers, don’t match reports.

    Any ideas?

Reports by default do extra filtering – in Advanced Reports this can be changed in Analysis Options to include deleted links, nofollow etc.

Yep. I guess I should wrote a blog post on it. We did work with SEOMoz on this one to explain some of the issues.

To be specific, we DO maintain integrity in our numbers, but in our STANDARD reports, we exclude links that we have flagged as deleted or removed. We also exclude some others which SEOs would not necessarily consider a “link”. In particular “mentions” where the url is in full on the page, but not hyperlinked.

In Advanced reports we do include these, but you would need to go into the filters to bring them back in to the default advanced report. For your blog, I easily found all 38 referring domains (Fresh), even though 4 were missing in the standard report. In actual fact I found 208 links not 200, and I think that this is likely because 8 urls had a second link to your site, so one url to url relationship, but more than on link on the page. Usually Alt text links do this, creating a secondary association on the same linked page.
