Java Developer

Job Description

No Agencies – All CVs from Agencies will be treated as generous gifts, Submissions from Individuals will be treated with confidence.

Despite a few years in the business, Majestic-12 maintains a start-up mentality. We are growing the development team as fast as we feel confident to do so. Our development methodology is evolving along agile principals – whiteboards and card instead of hard to modify project management systems. We focus on continuous improvement, evolving definitions of “done” and operating as an effective team.

Our development is focused on customer facing improvement. We strive to avoid second version syndrome, but do re-factor parts of our offering when sufficient commercial gain can be demonstrated.

We need a java developer with HTML Based UI experience to join our team of developers. Java work will principally be on our typical, middle tier Appserver on which host an increasing proportion of logic involving the Customer “Domain” and the majority of business rules regarding interaction with our website. Our front end is created as a “view-controller” to the remote java model. The view Controller is written in the perl programming language on the catalyst platform. We are beginning to lever Jquery & Ajax to enhance the user experience

We work out of our office near the centre of Birmingham, England, and don’t entertain home working as we recognise the that physical communication empowers team work and makes us a stronger team. In keeping with British Law, the successful candidate will have to demonstrate they have the right to work in the UK prior to commencing employment.
